Members and partner organisations of The DIETS THEMATIC NETWORK are committed to user privacy.

Policy on "protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions" is based on Regulation (EC) N° 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18th December 2000.

Usage data

The public areas of the DIETS website are accessible without imparting any personal details.

Non-personal usage data, such as your IP address, will be logged by the web server during your visit.

User data/personal data

If you decide to submit personal data for a specific purpose to the DIETS website or the Thematic Network we will treat this information in line with data protection law. We commit to use this individual-related data only for the specified purpose(s). We do not share your personal data with a third party except where necessary to provide services you have requested. Any information about you that we pass to a third party will be held securely by that party, and used only to provide the services or information you have requested.

We will disclose information we maintain when required to do so by law, for example in response to a court order. We also may disclose information in response to a legitimate request from an official law enforcement agency (e.g. the police, or an investigating magistrate).

You have the option to correct, to update or to delete the entrusted information. You can do this by updating your profile or alternatively, by informing us by email.

Right of access to personal data

According to the Data Protection Act you are entitled to know if we retain your personal data and to correct false statements.
